Playing Stuck vs Playing Flush

Poker players tend to act very differently from hand to hand depending on how well they’ve done leading up to that moment. If you’ve lost some money, clearly you are concerned with getting even, and then ahead, while when you’ve accumulated some meat to your stack you are afforded a more open method of online pokerplay. It’s always easier to gamble with someone else’s money as they say. Monitoring your behavior relative to where you stand in the stacks, then, is important to the continuity of a session.

When you are playing ’stuck’ (or, having lost a chunk of money), it is critical to make sure that you are still playing your best game. Going on tilt and gambling more often to try to get back to where you started might allow critical mistakes in judgment that can then get you stuck even deeper. Be able to realize when you’ve hit a point that enough is enough, and to cut your losses and play online poker another time.

Playing flush, on the other hand, affords a different but similar heeding: if you find you’ve opened up too much, and are gambling unnecessarily just because you can, it might be time to pack up your profits and return to the table when you are more level headed, and have less to lose.
